Team Manager Information

WHAT INFORMATION IS NEEDED FROM TEAMS TO SET UP ON-LINE ORDERING?

As soon as your rosters are complete, each team needs to provide the Rush's Uniform Coordinator (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) the following information for each rostered player to receive personalized ordering links from Soccer.com:
  • the player’s first and last name;
  • the player’s jersey number; and
  • the e-mail address

CHOOSE EMAIL AND PHONE NUMBER CAREFULLY! This will be the only contact information that Soccer.com will have for each player.

Jersey/uniform numbering is as follows: Rush 2-22, Nero 23-43, Azul 44-64; Goalkeepers 1, 18 and 28 respectively.

GUEST KITS
In addition, each team needs to purchase a “Guest Kit” consisting of two (2) Game Jerseys (one blue and one white) and two (2) Game Shorts (one blue and one white) for Guest players. When submitting roster information to Soccer.com, identify this player as “Guest 1.” Each team needs to designate a person responsible for placing the Guest Player orders, which can be the Team Manager or Treasurer. Be sure to provide the e-mail address for the person designated for placing the order. The cost for the guest player kit is to be included in team fees, and Team Managers need to be immediately reimbursed after online orders are placed. Please use higher uniform numbers for your Guest Kit (70-75 Rush, 80-85 Nero, 90-95 Azul).

HOW DO THE TEAMS CHOOSE THEIR JERSEY NUMBERS?

Returning Rush Players should have priority on numbers.  Players should pick their top three and then coach/manager can coordinate numbers accordingly.  If there is still a conflict, then the coach can come up with a tie breaker for the number.  Typically, if you have players pick their top three numbers, there is not much conflict.  You could have them pick 4 to make it a bit easier.  Like first choice, second choice, and so on.

DO GOALKEEPERS HAVE A KEEPER NUMBER ON THEIR REGULAR JERSEY (00, 0, OR 1) OR DO THEY CHOOSE A DIFFERENT NUMBER FOR THAT JERSEY?

The numbers 1, 18, and 28 are reserved for goalkeepers only. (Rush=1; Nero=18; Azul=28)

It is recommended that the team incur the cost of this jersey at the younger age groups, where playing time is often divided up among more than one player. These players would also need to purchase the required game kits. At the older age groups, where teams have dedicated GK’s, players can purchase the GK jersey and not the team jerseys.

DO TEAMS NEED TO ORDER GUEST JERSEYS?

Yes, see above. In the event your team adds a player during the season and you sell your Guest Kit to said player, the Team Manager is to immediately replace the team’s Guest Kit so that one is always available.

DA Philosophy

Philosophy

“The Rush Way to Play is based upon movement and activity by both player and ball. Possession-oriented does not fully describe how we play; attack-oriented does. Whether in possession or in defense, we are attacking. Rush Players play with freedom, yet understand the importance of responsibility and the balance between the two. Rush teams are flexible and adapt to varying circumstances. The Rush Way to Play represents both passion and purpose”.

•     Players are to be comfortable with a possession-based passing game, where the team will look to try and play out from the back in a coordinated and controlled manner and is developed through the thirds in order to produce goal-scoring opportunities when possible

•     Players will look to recognize opportunities to play forward and execute counter-attacking opportunities where possible but not at the expense of losing possession

•     Players will, upon losing possession, look to immediately regain possession by defending from the front as a preferred option, or to drop and establish a compact defensive shape when unable to do so

•     Above all, our teams are expected to display a competitive and winning mentality – winning games is of importance; however, this is not at the expense of the playing philosophy

The U12 age group will predominantly focus on technical development incorporating decision-making and consideration for basic principles of play. They will play predominantly in a flexible 4-2-2 formation with players encouraged to rotate positions. The U13 & U14 age groups will focus more toward tactical understanding and technical refinement. Players will still be required to have an understanding of a range of positions but as they progress through this phase should begin to develop a primary position within the team. 11v11 games will adopt a flexible 4-3-3 formation. The key aspect regarding formations is that they are a guide. The style of play is dictated by the playing philosophy and takes precedence overall.
