Boys Director of Coaching
Jamey brings a high level of playing and coaching experience to Washington Rush. He has been coaching for over 20 years and holds both his USSF “A” License and National Youth License.
Jamey’s passion for the game grew years back while playing soccer at recess in 2nd grade at the same time the 1986 World Cup was televised. From that point he was hooked on the sport and never looked back. He grew up playing in Canon City, Colorado in the youth soccer systems there and was eventually recruited by the University of Washington.
Some of his fondest memories as a player include winning a state championship, UW soccer travel and becoming a part of the US Youth National team at the age of 15 where he traveled across Europe. Jamey always had an interest in coaching and began doing soccer camps for kids and started to earn his coaching certifications.
Jamey would characterize his ideal style of play as highly technical and thoughtful passing teams that look to build out of the back with purpose. Jamey’s favorite moments are when former players reach out to say hi and thank him for the influence he’s had in their lives.
