Jr RCL

2024-2025 U8 and U9 Teams

Washington Rush is proud to offer flexibility for our youngest competitive players. Players can choose between year-round Premier teams or our Junior RCL seasonal teams. Regardless of which option your family chooses, Washington Rush coaches will focus on the development of both individual and team skills that are necessary for future success. Junior RCL serves as an introduction to a professional coaching environment where each player has the opportunity to grow their passion for soccer.

Boys and girls born in 2016 (U9) and 2017 (U8) are eligible to try out for the 2024-2025 season.  Players born in 2018 will be considered based on level and availability.

Players in our U8 and U9 age groups will play in three potential divisions: Boys, Girls or Co-ed. To maximize development, teams may compete in a variety of environments: in-house, local leagues, jamborees and tournaments. All games and training will be held in the Everett area with a limited number of games being played in the greater Seattle Region and as far north as Bellingham.

Weekly training sessions are specifically developed with an age-appropriate curriculum that utilizes a “play-practice-play” model. Sessions emphasize technical competency including:

  • Balance, coordination and control
  • Ball mastery - including dribbling, passing, moves and finishing techniques
  • Development of positive game behaviors
  • Teamwork
  • Understanding good training habits
