Coach
Teddy joined Washington Rush in 2022. He brings experience in coaching at nearly every level in the Seattle area. He has coached with both the Men’s Sounders Reserve team and the Women’s Sounders and most recently was named Head Coach the Everett Jets FC for the 2022 season. Teddy has also coached at the collegiate level, as well as several local high schools and youth programs throughout the state of Washington. In recognition of his commitment and contributions to the Washington soccer scene, Teddy was awarded the Seattle Sounders FC Golden Scarves Award in 2010.
Among the many accolades Teddy has received, Mitalas has coached several youth soccer teams to win Washington Youth Soccer State Championship titles. Additionally, at the high school level, he has taken teams to the Final Four and State Championships multiple times. He also coached the Edmonds Community College program to three NWAACC titles.
In his playing days, Teddy played for Seattle Pacific University and then moved on to play with the Seattle Sounders, AEK Athens FC and the US Olympic team. He now holds a USSF “C” license.
Coach Teddy lives in Brier with his wife, Cindy. Together, they have three children.
